Edutainment
Given the increasing prevalence of 3D online games in younger generations – who in the future will be critical in shortening the STEM skills gap in Australia - we identify an opportunity for the use of these resources in educational outreach towards primary and secondary schools, particularly for students interested in aviation.
The Maker Project
The project will revolve around creating a children’s version of our digital 3D airport, including the hangars, equipment, aircraft, runways and control tower. This initiative will provide children with an opportunity to experience the airport environment beyond the conventional paper planes and boarding lounges. Utilising realistic aircrafts, young learners will be able to explore various aspects of the aviation industry without encountering prohibitive safety and security protocols.
The Maker Project is expected to span 12-18 months, requiring a detailed plan and budget that we will prepare in consultation with our partner. Collaboration from the partner organisation will mainly involve providing general and pedagogical advice about early childhood education, and devising age-appropriate activities and challenges.
Below are some early character references for the project, designed specifically for young aviation enthusiasts.
